William "Bill" N. Bell

Columbus Grove, Ohio

William "Bill" N. Bell, 86, died at 8:53 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.  He was born September 1, 1934, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, to George Alexander and Norma Colleen (Allen) Bell.   They both preceded him in death.

On September 19, 1954, he married Charlotte M. Jones, and she preceded him on August 3, 2015.

Bill is survived by his two sons, Curt Bell and Keith (Debra) Bell; one daughter, Beth Diller; one daughter in-law, Dawn Bell; four grandchildren, Jared (Abby) Diller, Lisa Beth (Joe) Brautigam, Alex (Collette) Bell and Kobi Bell; five great grandchildren, Charlotte, James and Peter Brautigam, Jackson and Josie Diller; and one sister, Brenda (Larry) Clymer.

He was preceded in death by his son, Neal Bell.

Bill was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1953.  After graduation he worked for the Columbus Grove School System, caring for the building and boiler room.  He then worked for Phillips Corporation, formerly of Ottawa, retiring in 1995, after 30 years.

He was a skilled knife maker and was a member of the National Knife Maker's Guild.  Bill was a life member of the NRA, he enjoyed NASCAR, and was a Cincinnati Reds and Columbus Grove Bulldog fan.

Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.  Pastor Jim Klausing will officiate with burial to follow at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m, Monday, February 1, 2021, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.
