Gomer, Ohio

 

Willard Jay Nusbaum of rural Gomer passed away on August 13, 2021, at Kindred Hospital from complications of Myasthenia Gravis.

 

His Family – He was born on August 25, 1938, to Gilbert and Mabel Nusbaum who preceded him in death.  His sisters, Doris Maley and Elinor Martin, and his brother, Robert Nusbaum, also preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon Litten Nusbaum.

 

He is survived by two sons, David P. (Kristy) Nusbaum of rural Gomer and Matthew J. (Heather) Nusbaum of Columbus Grove, two daughters, Kelly A. (Michael) Richards of rural Gomer and Dina K. (Steve) Tadena of Pandora.  He is also survived by eleven Grandchildren, Jay (Jennifer) Tadena, Nicholas Tadena, Seth Tadena, Maegan (Brian) Richards Mosier, Trevor (Ashley) Richards, Alexandria Nusbaum, Gabriella Nusbaum, Darik (Bethany) Thomas, Sammy Nusbaum, Madison Nusbaum, and Willard Nusbaum and four Great Grandchildren, Emery Markey, Alorah Cruz, Eleanor Tadena, and Max Mosier.

 

His Legacy – Will was a lifelong farmer growing up and living his life on the Nusbaum family farm in rural Gomer.  He was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians fan.  He truly enjoyed spending many vacations with his family up in Traverse City, Michigan, and fishing on Spider Lake.  Nothing meant more to Will than his family and he was very proud of each one.

 

His Farewell Service – The family will hold a private farewell service at the Nusbaum family farm home Sunday, August 22, 2021, with burial at the Pike Run Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Gift Fund of the Gomer Congregational Church.  Online condolences may be shared at www.HartmanSonsFuneralHome.com.
