Thomas L. Dunlap

Thomas L. Dunlap, 75, passed away on August 14, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 18, 1948, in Lima, Ohio to Ronald and Dorothy (Koenig) Dunlap who preceded him in death.  On July 6, 1974, he married Janet Kramer who passed away May 29, 2021.

Thomas is survived by 3 daughters: Christina Dunlap, Dee (Eric) Dunn and Brenda (Eric) Barnt and 5 grandchildren:  Dakota, Riley and Peyton Dunn and Devin and Jackson Barnt. He is also survived by his brothers: Jim Dunlap, Mike (Jewelie) Dunlap and Max Dunlap.

Thomas was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1966. He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1968 to 1970. Thomas was a farmer and a tool and die maker. He also served as a Sugar Creek Township Trustee.  He was a member of the Kalida K of C, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fort Jennings American Legion and the Columbus Grove Athletic Boosters.

Thomas enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events or any Columbus Grove sporting event or activity. He greatly enjoyed the family vacations to Manitoulin Island, Canada.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Father David Ritchie presiding. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Columbus Grove with military rites.

 Friends may call at Hartman Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, August 18, from 9:00 a.m.to 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s School Endowment Fund or to Putnam County Hospice.
