Shirley A. Kissell

Shirley Ann Kissell, age 80, of Columbus Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  Shirley is the daughter of Sylvester and Marie (Recker) Ellerbrock.  She graduated from Saints Peter and Paul High School in 1959 and St. Rita’s School of Nursing in 1962.  Shirley retired in 1999 from St. Rita’s Medical Center following 37 years of service.  Shirley was a longtime active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and shared her faith with all who knew her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allan “Bud” & Ethel Kissell; brother, Marvin Ellerbrock; sisters-in-law, Aggie Ellerbrock, Mary Jean Kohls, and Sharon Kissell; and brothers-in-law, Kenny Schroeder; John “Jack” Kissell, and Robert “Bob” Kohls.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob”; children, Jeffrey (Tanya) Kissell of Strongsville, Janell (Glenn) Bishop of Liberty Township, Beverly (Matt) Jones of Columbus, Brian (Denise) Kissell of Dublin, and Mark (Molly) Kissell of Bala Cynwyd, PA; grandchildren, Sophia, Gavin, Zachary, Alaina, Anna, Ella, and Vivian; siblings, Ron (Linda) Ellerbrock, Arlene (Bill) Schroeder, Darlene Schroeder, Jim (Bonnie DeBold) Ellerbrock,  Marilyn (Tom) Stechschulte, Denny (Pat) Ellerbrock; Kevin (Cheryl) Ellerbrock, Cheri (Tony) Kuhlman; Tim Ellerbrock; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice Kissell, Judy (Butch) Leffler, Tom (Helen) Kissell, Pat Kissell, Peg (Milt) Zimmerly, and Joy (Phil) Stechshulte; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 & 6-8:00pm on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, 10879 SR 12, Columbus Grove;  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 518 West Sycamore Street, Columbus Grove; Fr. David Ritchie Celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
