Ruby Jane Erickson

Ruby Erickson, 78, of Lima, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on September 29, 2022.

Ruby was born on November 2, 1943, to Alice and Edgar Tudor. She attended Gomer school and then earned an education degree from Bluffton College, followed by a master’s degree from Indiana University. She married O. Stephen Erickson on September 30, 1977. She spent 35 years teaching in 1st grade, remedial reading and math, and 5th grade for the Elida school system. She lived her entire life north of Lima between Gomer and Vaughnsville. Ruby had a love for miniature schnauzers and enjoyed the company of many of them over the years, as well as multiple cats.

She was preceded in death by her sister Sue Miller in 1986, her husband Steve in 1988, and multiple extended family members. She is survived by daughter Amy of Lima, son Bill (Katie) of Findlay, daughter Susan of Lima, and close friends David and Ardath Sunderland of Elida.

Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, October 3, 2022, and beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, until the memorial service at 11:00 am. Ruby will be interred at Pike Run Cemetery outside of Gomer, Ohio.
