Robert (Bob) Lloyd Stemen, 71, of Findlay passed away on June 18, 2023 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born December 31, 1951 in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert E. and Neva M. (Williams) Stemen. He married Mary Jo Beane on February 28, 1981. They later divorced. He is survived by his 4 children Michelle (Josh) Neuleib, Robert Stemen, Melissa (Jay) Warren, and Ronald (Amanda) Stemen.
Bob is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Ostyn, Jewel, Gavyn, JP, Brianna, Danielle, Adam, Ariana, Alexander, Brennan, Alexandra, and Madison, and sister Rebecca (James) Eagy.
Bob grew up in the town of Gomer where he enjoyed all the perks of small town living, attending school there and being a 1970 graduate of Elida High School. At the age of 17, he went to work for Hawthrone Hills Golf Course, where he stayed for many years and became the Superintendent after being mentored by Wilbur Bunke. His next employment venture in life relocated Bob and his family to Findlay area where he raised his children and took employment as a Salesman with Lesco, which later became John Deere Landscaping and then Site One Landscaping for 34 years. After he retired in 2019, he enjoyed the freedom to travel and being a proud grandpa.
Bob had recently attended and became a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church where he had attended with his family as a young child before moving to Gomer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Pastor Eubank for his faithful visits to Bob and the congregation for their prayers and support during his journey through pancreatic cancer.
Visitation for Bob will be on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Hartman and Sons Funeral home in Columbus Grove, Ohio from 4-8 pm. Additional viewing will be at 10 am on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Columbus Grove Christian Church, with a Celebration of Life service will follow at 10:30 am. Graveside service to follow at Osborne Cemetery in Columbus Grove.
