Columbus Grove, Ohio
Richard Lee Yinger, age 58, passed away on September 14, 2022, at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Ohio. He was born February 8, 1964, in Lansing, MI, to John Alton and Delores (Lampson) Welch. Both preceded him in death.
On March 5, 1994, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Verhoff, who survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Richard was an over the road truck driver also known as Turk. He loved tinkering in his garage after retirement, and was known to most of the kids in the neighborhood as “The man that fixes the bikes.” Richard loved the road whether it was on his motorcycle or strolling the back roads looking for deer with his beloved wife.
Turk was known for always lending a helping hand and going above and beyond for family and friends. If there was a problem he could always fix it, no matter if it was an engine or in life. Richard could be found most days in the backyard barbequing, laughing, and making memories with his kids and grandkids. He will always be remembered for his laughter and how he loved telling a good joke. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Richard is survived by one brother, Raymond Yinger; one sister, Tina (Randy) Tucker; five children, Walter (Karen) Woodruff, Richard Woodruff, Jasmine (Tylor) Morman, Alton Tanner Yinger, and Kyrah (Jacob Patterson) Yinger; one daughter-in-law, Lynnann Fuller; eleven grandchildren, Donovan, Matthew, Zoey, Logan, Lincoln, Hayes, Nixon, Kiersten, Einsly, Jaylin, and Alaina. Richard is also survived by Amos Eutsler, whom he loved liked a son.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sharon Cole, Dr. Stephen Lutz, J.R. Niese CPN, Richard’s Angel Brooke Cassidy RN, and everyone at Armes Family Cancer Care Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
