Randall “Randy” Scott Stephens passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021, at the age of 57, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 8, 1963, in Lima, to Alton and Virginia Ruth (Keller) Stephens. His mother, preceded him in death and his father Alton (Carol) Stephens, survives in Gomer.
On July 20, 1991, he married Diane T. Abels, and she survives near Columbus Grove. Also surviving are his three children, Emily (Blake) Galloway, Joshua (Bria) Stephens and Linnea (Bailey Sproul) Stephens, grandchildren; Jaida and Phoenix Galloway, and brothers Bruce (Barb) Stephens, Brent (Sharon) Stephens, Chase Stephens.
He attended Vaughnsville Elementary School and graduated from Columbus Grove High School in 1981. He was a member at Faith Baptist Church of Ottawa.
Randy worked for many years at Amerigas Propane company and was most recently employed at Eagle Railcar. He was a dedicated father and loving husband. His kids recount a wonderful childhood with him on their family farm. Randy loved being outdoors. He was an avid Columbus Grove Bulldog, Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Brown fan. His passions included raising beef cattle and other livestock. He always looked forward to farming with his father, brothers and son. Randy adored being a grandfather and loved going to the zoo with his grandchildren. His pride and love for his children was very evident by the way he spoke about them to family and friends.
Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2021, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Denny Coates
will officiate with burial to follow in Vaughnsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home.
