Pauline M Osterhage

Columbus Grove, Ohio

Pauline M. Osterhage, age 96, passed away on April 21, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.  She was born December 27, 1926, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, to Harry and Clara (Kahle) Schumacher.  She married Alfred Osterhage on July 8, 1950, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1985.

Pauline is survived by her two daughters and one son: Julia (Mark) Schroeder, Columbus Grove, OH, Jean (Tony) Glass, Marion, OH, and John (Rita) Osterhage, Hixson, TN.  She is also survived by one brother, Karl Schumacher, Columbus Grove, and one sister-in-law, Kay Schumacher, also of Columbus Grove.  Also surviving are six grandchildren Tony (Shona) Glass Jr, Ryan (Stacie) Schroeder, Kim (Matt) Ruth, Gina (Kendell) Seay, Scott (Kylee) Glass, and Kara (Tyler) Oney, and eleven great-grandchildren. 

Pauline was preceded in death by seven brothers Alfred, Robert “Whitey”, Paul, Ray, Harry L Jr., Cletus, and Victor Schumacher.

Pauline was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and it’s CLC and a member of the VFW Auxiliary for the Columbus Grove Post.  She was a homemaker and also worked at various businesses in the area including Columbus Grove Grain & Supply, Konalrad in Pandora, and Walmart in Ottawa.  Pauline enjoyed playing cards.  She loved spending time with her kids and their families.  She enjoyed baking cookies for her family.

Visitation will be Monday, April 24, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00pm with a Rosary service following the evening’s visitation and one hour prior to service on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 10:30am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Columbus Grove with burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery with Father David Ritchie officiating.
