Paul George Adkins passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on June 18, 1958 to Paul Edgar and Mary Lou (Wells) Adkins who preceded him in death. On September 1, 1989, he married Donna Schroeder who survives.
Paul graduated from Newport News High School in 1977. After graduating, he enlisted in the Army serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1982. Following his discharge, he went to work as a truck driver for his entire life. Paul loved his grandchildren most of all and spending time with them.
Paul is survived by his children, Laura (Aaron) Elkins of Columbus Grove, Justin (Shelby) Adkins of Columbus Grove and Mary Jo Adkins of Lima. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Brock, Kaylynn, Jordan, Miklo, Jaxson, Javier and Justin Jr. Also surviving is his brother, Terry (Lydia) Adkins of Ottawa and his in-laws, Mary Ann Cox, Donald (Gloria) Schroeder, Ronald (Deb) Schroeder, Barb Schroeder, Robert (Doris) Schroeder, Mark (Maryann) Schroeder and Louann Patton.
Paul is preceded in death by his in-laws, Louis and Mary Ida Schroeder, his brother-in-law, Cletus Schroeder, his nephew Michael Cox and his niece Renea Patton.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 12-2 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove with service to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Brother Dan Hall will conduct the service.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
