Marilyn "Mick" G. (Kleman) Kohls

Marilyn G. "Mick" Kohls, 84, died on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio. She was born April 7, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of August and Emma (Palte) Kleman who both preceded her in death. On April 7, 1956, she married Virgil Kohls, who died on July 27, 1995.

Marilyn attended Glandorf St. John’s High School from which she graduated. She also attended Rhodes State College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree at the age of 62. Marilyn was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and C.L.C of the church. Other memberships included the Lima Eagles Aerie 370.

She was very involved with the Special Olympics and also coached basketball at Brookhill Industries. Marilyn was a bus driver and SSA at Brookhill Industries. She worked at Kohls Market, Columbus Grove, and for Voca/ResCare Group Homes. Her hobbies included card playing, bowling, and Columbus Grove sports.

Marilyn is survived by one son: Gary (Carla) Kohls; three daughters: Kay Kohls, Kimberly (Joe) Schreiber, and Karen (Dwain) Burkholder; eight grandchildren: Matthew Kohls, Andrew (Rachel) Kohls, Lucas Kohls, Noah Kohls, Adam Schreiber, Christopher Schreiber, Kirt Schnipke, and Kelsey (Zach) Graber; four great-grandchildren: Elijah Kohls, Samuel Kohls, Moorely Kohls, and Logan Graber; one sister: Julie (Gordon) Depree and two sisters-in-law: Helen Kleman and Jean Kohls.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Wilfred (Dorothy) Kleman and Walter (Helen) Kleman; and sisters: Alice (Elmo) Miller, Lucille (Melvin) Ricker, and Velma (Sylvester) Diemer.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 2:00 until 8:00 pm and Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:00 am, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. A Rosary service will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Wednesday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove.  Father David Ritchie will officiate.
