Marilyn (Siebeneck) Bowers

Marilyn Bowers, 78, of Saegertown PA, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday July 11, 2021 peacefully at home with her loving family surrounding her.

She was born on June 5 th, 1943 in Putnam County Ohio to Victor and Philomena (Maag) Siebeneck, who proceeded her in death. She married Gary Bowers on February 29, 1972 who passed away November 30, 2016.

Marilyn was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Saegertown, PA, where she was one of the teachers for the kid’s church. Marilyn lived most of her life in Columbus Grove, Ohio. When living there, she was a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church, where she served as president of the women’s fellowship for 2 yrs., was a deaconess for 6 yrs., and Sunday school teacher for the preschool class for 22 years. Marilyn had a great love and devotion for children. She taught kids club for 9 years. She was also a Daisy Girls Scout leader for many years. She ran a day care in her home for 20 years. Her family meant everything to her.

Marilyn was a talented seamstress. She made both of her daughter’s wedding dresses. Her favorite thing to make was Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls of all sizes.

Survivors include, four children, Gregory (Melissa) Lusk, of Lima OH, Douglas Lusk and companion Diane Elston of Bluffton OH, and Anthony Bowers and companion Sue Sisson of Ottawa OH, Jennifer (Andrew) McClymonds, of Saegertown PA. A sister, Bonnie Neuer of Page AZ, and brothers, Victor (Sharon) Siebeneck of Wolcottville IN, and Kenneth (Suellen) Siebeneck of Palm Harbor FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Music, sisters Joan Eddington and Kathy Wheeler, and a brother, Ronald Siebeneck.

Visitation will be from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday July 14 and on Thursday prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, 10879 State Route 12, Columbus Grove, OH, where the funeral service will follow at 12:00pm.  Pastor Jim Klausing will officiate with burial to follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions be made to Active Aging, 1034 Park Ave, Meadville PA, 16335, or Hospice of Crawford County PA.
