Marilyn J. Benroth 89, died Wednesday November 23rd, 2022, at The Meadows of Kalida.  She was born November 24, 1932, in Columbus Grove, to Frances T. and Helen L. (Nichols) Amstutz.

On June 14, 1950, she married Richard E. Benroth, and they celebrated 59 years before he preceded her in death in 2009.

Survivors also include three daughters, Gloria (Don) Schroeder and Nancy (Jeff) Nonnemaker, both of Columbus Grove, and Joyce (Ricci) Keirns, of Madisonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Jeanna Basinger, Greg (Chris) Schroeder, and Mary Beth (Kelly) Iliff, all of Ohio, Brian (Julie) Rodenberger, of California, Cynthia (Jay) Glidden, of Florida, Tisha (Luke Hohenbrink) Moser of Ohio, Alex (Judy) Moser of South Carolina, and Sabrina (Verl) Warnimont of Ohio; 13 great-grandchildren, Zachary (Kasandra Hormann) Basinger, Danielle (Chad Bishop) Basinger, Haylie (Alex Taylor) Basinger, Hope (Alex) Shafer, Grace (Corey) Schroeder, Shay Schroeder, Kaden Rodenberger, Taylor (Travis Parker) Kierscht, Jeremy (Ariel Almassy) Moser, Brett (Emma) Knox; Rhilee and Brynley Warnimont, and Savannah (Brice) Reeves. 4 great great grandchildren McKenzie Basinger, Riley Basinger, Zachary Basinger, Jr., and Jaden Shafer.

Marilyn was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School Class of 1950.  She was a member of the St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove

She and her husband had enjoyed traveling in their recreational vehicle and were members of the Ohio Nomads RV Club and the National Campers and Hikers Association and enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 on Friday, November 25th, 2022, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10:00am until time of services on Saturday.

Services will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Kyle Thane will officiate with burial to follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John United Methodist Church or St. Rita’s Hospice.
