Lucas Dietz, age 43, died on October 23, 2023, in Pandora, Ohio. He was born February 18, 1980, in Lima, Ohio, to Frank and Jeannie Dietz who survive. On May 14, 2011, he married Chanzie Parsons who also survives in Pandora.
Lucas is survived by his daughters Madilynn and Allyson; his three sisters Alycia (Steven) Music, Amber (Travis) Holtzapple, and Amanda (Craig) Berger; his grandfather Dan Dietz; mother and father-in-law Jeff and Kelly Parsons, sisters-in-law Shelbi Parsons and Victoria Parsons, and his grandparents-in-law Chuck and Barb Conaway. Lucas is also survived by nieces and nephews Damion, Ryan, Kaden, Ava, Brandon, Owen, Braelyn, Jocelynn, and Jakari “Larry”. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Tonya Parsons, his grandparents Bill and Dolores Geren, and his grandmother Lois Dietz.
Lucas was a graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Class of 1998, and a current employee of Pepsi in Lima. He was the Senior Service Commander of the Columbus Grove VFW Post 9648, and was a US Navy veteran. His weekends were usually spent at Parsons Auto Service working and learning the trade.
The light of his life was being a father. He loved his girls with all his being. Providing for his family and others with a spirit of selflessness and love was his passion. Lucas was an avid Buckeyes fan. He was a car guy with a particular fondness for his Ford Excursion. He loved dirt-track racing at Putnam International Trailway near Pandora. Lucas was the kind of man that would do anything to help someone including giving them the shirt off his back. Lucas was a family man. He loved his girls with his heart and soul and loved his nieces and nephews as his own.
Friends may call at Hartman Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. and Monday, October 30, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Pastor Geoff Eubank presiding. To honor Lucas, please dress casual and wear your OSU attire.
Any memorial contributions made to the family should be made out to Edward Jones and will be put towards college funds for his daughters.
