Lorene Extine Bishop, age 90, of Pandora, formerly of Vaughnsville, passed away, Monday, June 20, 2022, at The Hilty Memorial Home. She was born August 2, 1931 in Corbin, KY to Glen and Ida (Mason) Extine. They both preceded her in death. On January 10, 1948 she married James Hoover Bishop, and he preceded her in death in 1978.
Lorene is survived by three sons; Michael Dennis (Anna) Bishop of Indiana, Daniel Glen Bishop of South Carolina, and Stephen Bradley ‘Hippy’ (Tammie) Bishop of Pandora, and one daughter; Lynette (Eric) Jennings of Florida. Lorene is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Kathy Bishop and Beth Bishop, 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters; Renae Bishop and Darlene Powell, two sons; James Richard Bishop and Randall Jay Bishop, three brothers, and two sisters.
Lorene worked in healthcare for 35 years, both in the nursing home industry and then finally in-home healthcare. Her first love was the Lord, and she had been a member of the former Bluffton Baptist Church. She loved to sing and pray all of the time. She also loved late night trips for coffee, as well as watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Her pride and joy was her grand doggie, Scrappy. He visited her every day and gave her loads of kisses.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. A funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Bayliff will officiate with burial to follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio
