Kathryn J Barfell

Kathryn J. Barfell, 70, died September 10, 2023, at The Meadows of Ottawa. Kathryn was born July 7, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to Robert and Frances (Barnhart) Steele, who preceded her in death. On April 3, 1976 she married Harold Barfell and he survives her.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Jeremy (Susan) Barfell, daughter April (Shawn) Campbell, three brothers Steven (Phyllis) Steele, Raymond (Jean) Steele, and Glenn Steele.  She is also survived by five grandchildren Daedre Campbell, Arianna Campbell, Sadie Barfell, Lydia Campbell, and Valarie Barfell.

Kathryn worked at Philips in Ottawa for over 29 years and The Putnam Acre Care Center, and was a member of the Columbus Grove Christian Church.

Kathryn loved dogs, always taking in strays into her family. She loved to craft and she and Harold loved to attend craft shows. She enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, sewing, and had a great Barbie collection.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 14 from 3 – 7 pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10 – 11 am at the Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11am with Pastor Geoff Eubank officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County Council of Aging, or Deb’s Dogs.
