Kathleen A. Langhals

Kathleen “Kathie” Langhals, 77, died on April 2, 2022, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.  She was born on April 25, 1944, in Lima, Ohio, to George L. and Martha K. (Utendorf) Hoffman who both preceded her in death.

On October 26, 1963, she married Elmer J. Langhals who survives in Columbus Grove.

Kathie is survived by children Pam Langhals, Paul (Sandy) Langhals, Paula (Mike) Parish, Pete Langhals, Chris (Mike) Grigsby, and Cindy (Aaron) Stechschulte.  She is also survived by one brother Ken Hoffman.  Also surviving are grandchildren Brett, Ashley, Lindsay, Breanne, Jerry, Brandon, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jacob, Rob, Roy, Daisy, Autumn and Ariel. And great-grandchildren Wayne and Reghan.  Kathie was preceded in death by a son Patrick, three sisters Pat, Jane and Audrey, and her brother George.

Kathie was a loving wife, mother and very supportive of her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the CL of C, and the Altar Rosary Society.  Kathie enjoyed spending time crafting and sewing, and especially traveling with her family.  She attended and graduated from Glandorf High School, and then Northwest Business College.  She, along with her husband Elmer, owned and operated the Rainbow Party Shop in Columbus Grove, for 52 years.  In addition, Kathie owned and managed Kats Krafty Kupboard for a number of years, in support of her love for crafting.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.  A Rosary Service will follow close of visitation.  Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 10:00am with Fr. David Ritchie presiding.  Burial to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony’s School Endowment Fund or Putnam County or St. Rita’s Hospice.
