Jo Ann Gander

Jo Ann Gander, 87, died on July 30, 2022, at Bridge Hospice, Blanchard Valley Care Center, Findlay, Ohio. She was born February 24, 1935, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, the daughter of Eugene and Martha (Roethlisberger) Gander who both preceded her in death.

Jo Ann attended Columbus Grove High School from which she graduated. She also attended Northwestern College, where she trained to become a legal secretary. She worked her entire career at Marathon Oil Company, Findlay, Ohio, for over thirty years.

She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Findlay. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She often visited with her neighbors while sitting on her swing. Jo Ann’s special joy was her “Chloe”, a white fluffy rescue dog.

Survivors include her niece in-law, Mary Gander, great nephew, Robert “Robby” (Annett) Gander III, and great niece, Theresa “Terrie” (Eric) Betts, all of Columbus Grove. Jo Ann is also survived by her great, great nieces and nephews, Raven, Vanessa, Kennedy, and Austin Gander, Dylon Golden, Hannah and Jasmine Betts.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Gander; nephew, Robert Gander II; and her great, great niece, Hailey Betts.

A private funeral service will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Pastor Rich Rakay will be officiating with burial to follow at Truro Cemetery in Columbus Grove.

A celebration of life memorial service will also be held at a later date and time.
