Irvin Arnold Schroeder, 86, died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born June 16, 1936 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Sam and Ramona (Schmenk) Schroeder who preceded him in death. He married Sharon Bendele on August 8, 1959 and she preceded him in death December 2020.

He is survived by two sons Troy (Lori) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Bruce (Barb) Schroeder, of Columbus Grove, two brothers Sam (Ann) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Delmer (Margaret) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, sister-in-law Elaine Schroeder of Columbus Grove, and Kathy Schroeder of Denver, Colorado. Irvin is also survived by seven grandchildren Garrick (Anna) Schroeder, Connor (Mary) Schroeder, Desirae (Nate) Schey, Tyler Schroeder, Kyle Schroeder, Katie Schroeder, and Linzi Schroeder, and one great grandchild Brynlee Schey.

Irvin was preceded in death by his daughter Lora J. Schroeder, brothers: Dave Schroeder and Omer Schroeder, sisters: Anna Mae Schroeder, Mary Koch, Anita Verhoff, and Sister Margery Schroeder, and sister-in-law Kathy Schroeder.

Irvin was a lifelong farmer and worked at Scot Lads Food. He was a member of Saint Anthony’s Parish of Columbus Grove. He thoroughly enjoyed having highly political conversations, loved playing Euchre and Solo card games, adored his grandchildren and was proud to have a first great grandchild at 86 years young.

Visitation will be at Hartman Sons Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 4–8 PM.

Friends may also call at the funeral home on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9–10 AM. Funeral Mass will be held at St Anthony’s Church, Columbus Grove at 10 AM with Father David Ritchie presiding. Burial to follow at St Anthony’s Cemetery.
