Irene A (Niese) Kahle

Columbus Grove, Ohio

Irene A Kahle passed away at the age of 95 on Monday, July 26, 2021 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio.  She was born October 10, 1925, in Leipsic, Ohio, to George and Mary (Luttfring) Niese both of whom are deceased.  

On September 28, 1946, she married Linus J. Kahle who preceded her in death. Surviving are four daughters: Linda Recker, Gahanna, Ohio; Joanne (Don) Lechner, White House, Ohio; Connie (John) Niese, Columbus Grove, Ohio; and Julie (Chuck) Zimomra, Coshocton, Ohio. Irene is also survived by 13 grand-children: 13 great grand-children:  and 3 great-great grand-children.  She was preceded in death by son, Larry Kahle; daughter, Jane Kiene (son-in-law Bob Kiene survives); and son-in-law Brice Recker.  Her four sisters: Thelma Kuhlman, Velma Schmenk, Arlene Rosengarten, and Rita Clapp, all preceded her in death.

Irene was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Columbus Grove.  She was a homemaker, enjoyed square dancing, flowers and gardening.

Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, with the Very Rev. David Ritchie presiding.  Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. There will be an Alter Rosary Service at close of visitation.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
