Gerald "Jerry" W. Goedde

Gerald W. “Jerry” Goedde, 80, died October 5, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital.  He was born January 12, 1941, in Leipsic, to Isadore and Mildred (Kruse) Goedde.  They both preceded him in death.

On October 5, 1968, he married Dorothy Duding and she survives in Ottawa.

Jerry is survived by his two sons, David (Jen) Goedde and Steven (Nicole) Goedde; one daughter, Julie (Charles) Newland; grandchildren, Emma, Erin, T.J., Kaylynne, Thomas, Ashli and Jarid; great grandson, Easton; one brother, Norman (Angela) Goedde and one sister, Doris (Carl) Herman.

Jerry attended Leipsic High School.    He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove and a member of the Knights of Columbus 9788.  Jerry had worked at Meto-Kote, of Lima, prior to which he worked at SOHIGRO.  He was a carpenter and had worked for Bob Alt Construction.  Jerry was also a farmer. 

He enjoyed fishing, playing softball with the Leipsic Eagles, who were State champions in 1971, mushroom hunting, playing cards and gardening.  Jerry truly was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove.

Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with Father David Ritchie officiating.  Burial will follow in Truro West Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
