Emerson Tracy Brown

Emerson “Tracy” Brown, age 78, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  Tracy was born on November 9, 1944, to Emerson B. and Delilah C. (Tracy) Brown who preceded him in death.  On June 23, 1967, he married Jacqueline (Jackie) R. Phillians who survives in Columbus Grove.

Tracy is survived by his son Lee (Samantha) Brown of Lander, WY, and his daughter Tracey (James) Delarber of Defiance, OH.  Also surviving are: grandchildren Ashley (Angelo) Castillo, Defiance, OH; Madyson Palmer, Coventry, RI; and Braedyn Bemis, Defiance, OH; In-laws Theresa Davis, Ada, OH; and nieces and nephews Jennifer (Nick) Myers, Findlay, OH; Aaron (Lori) Davis, Arlington, OH.  Tracy was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Davis.

Tracy was a graduate of Ada High School, Class of 1963, and Ohio Northern in 1967, then obtained his Masters in Education from the University of Dayton.  He was an Industrial Arts teacher at Columbus Grove and their Track Coach for many years.  Tracy’s hobbies included running, biking, quilting, and spending time with his great-grandson Braedyn and the rest of his family.

As Tracy requested, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Donations may be made to Columbus Grove High School Athletic Department or you may plant a tree in his memory.
