Dorothy L. Goedde, age 82, died September 27, 2023 at 5:10 pm at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima.  Dorothy was born on April 12, 1941, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Joseph and Josephine (Dibling) Duding, who preceded her in death.  On October 5, 1968, she married Gerald “Jerry” Goedde who preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Julie (Charles) Newland from Vaughnsville, son David (Jen) Goedde of Pandora, and son Steven (Nicole) Goedde of Columbus Grove.  Dorothy is also survived by grandkids Emma, Erin, TJ, Kaylynne, Thomas, Ashli and Jarid along with great grandson Easton.  She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Yost, Kathryn Yost, Janice Brose, and Carolyn Frederick.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Wendlin’s Catholic School in Fostoria.  She worked at RCA in Findlay in early years but was a stay-at-home mother.  She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua in Columbus Grove.  Dorothy was a passionate nature lover and gardener.  She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and watching birds.  She enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing with her family.

Dorothy was the matriarch of her family.  She had a loving and kind heart who accepted people for who they were.

Friends may call at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Columbus Grove on Saturday, September 30th where visitation will be held from 8:30 am until 10:00 am with the funeral mass to begin at 10:00 am, Father David Ritchie officiating.  Burial to follow in Truro West Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
