Charles H. McDougle, 99, died October 2, 2021, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio. He was born May 5, 1922, to Samuel and Ella (Taylor) McDougle. On October 10, 1942, he married Neva Jane Wood. She proceeded him in death February 19, 1999.
Charles was a farmer and had worked for and retired (after 27 ½ years) from the Sylvania GTE Co., formerly Philips, Ottawa, Ohio. He served in the United States Army, was a member of the American Legion Bowers-Slusser Post 516, Columbus Grove. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lakeview, where he had served as an usher, Sunday School teacher, and he also took care of the outdoor maintenance. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers, boating, fishing and bowling. He very much loved his grandchildren and his family.
Survivors include his daughter Karen (Marty) Marshall, son Greg McDougle, brother Harold McDougle, daughter-in-law Cathy McDougle daughter-in-law Pat McDougle, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by sons Dennis, Terry and Gary McDougle, sisters Helen Dilts, Doris McDougle, Donna McDougle, Golda Insley, Zelma Near, Helen Dilto, and Florence Rangel and brothers Clarence, Albert, Floyd, Ray, Robert, Lawrence, and Kenneth McDougle.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 10 until 11 am, at which time the family will proceed to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora, where there will be a military service provided by the Columbus Grove American Legion and VFW combined color guard. Donations may be made to Gideon's International or to Bridge Hospice.
