Brock Gordon Leon Meader

Brock Gordon Leon Meader, also known as Brockodile, Brocksicle, Broccoli, Brockie, Brockasaurus, passed away peacefully at Motts Children’s Hospital, Wednesday, July 13 at age 10 at 8:35 p.m. He courageously finished his battle with cancer surrounded by family and his favorite nurses.

Brock was born November 6, 2011; the son of Brian and Christa (Meyer) Meader of Stockbridge, Michigan.

When Brock could, he would be found outside fishing, shooting, hunting, trail riding, and just digging holes. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Diesel, River, and Gunner, playing video games with his friends, and watching his favorite YouTubers: Googan Squad, Flair, Dirt Dudes, and Kendall Gray.

Brock was an old soul who will be remembered for his stunning blue eyes, infectious smile and laugh, no-nonsense attitude, and his hatred of anyone touching him or his blankets. He always put others before himself, and even through his cancer journey he was always doing something to benefit others. From food drives to art supply and video game fundraisers for the other kids on the 7th Floor at Motts Children’s Hospital. He was a little philanthropist at heart.

Brock leaves his parents, Brian & Christa Meader, to carry on his memory.

He is also survived by his grandparents: Gordon & Jacqueline (nee Miller) Meyer and Ken & Sue (nee Cicalo) Meader.

Aunts and Uncles: Jeremy Meader of Saginaw, Michigan; Andy & Christine (nee Garbe) Meyer of Findlay, Ohio; and Derek & Kari (nee Meyer) Stober of Wellington, Colorado.

Cousins: Harper Meyer; Tristan & Charlie Stober

As well as his adopted families: The Averys, The Grones, The Phillips’, and many extended family members and friends.

Brock was joined by his beloved dog Diesel, who left just hours before, waiting for him at the gates of the Rainbow Bridge.

The Meader family would like to send special thanks to the 7-East nursing staff at Motts Children’s Hospital for their incredible care of Brock over the last five years. And shout-out to his favorites: Milkshake Mary, his second mama, Emily, Brynn, Joan, Ashley, Lois, Kristin, Laura, and Andrew. We cannot leave out his favorite Doctors. Dr. Schmemily (Emily), Dr Boring (Lauren), Dr Mark, and Dr Patrick.

We would also like to say a very special thank you to Mr. Cherry and all the Challenger Elementary teachers, staff and students who have been with us from the beginning.

Thank you to all of TEAM BROCK. Brock knew he always had a team of people who were praying for and supporting him. We appreciate all you’ve done for us over the years.

Brock’s family will receive friends on Saturday July 23, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service 3:00 PM at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Home MacDonald Chapel located at 315 N.
