Bonnie L. Schumacher, 93, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at her home. She was born November 20, 1928, near Columbus Grove to Jacob and Ethel (Stephens) Myers who both preceded her in death.
On August 28, 1948 she married Alvin Schumacher who died August 17, 2017.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Joe Schumacher of Columbus Grove; three daughters, Susan (Dave) Kruse of Lexington, Deb (Geoff) Stafford of Worthington, and Jill (Mike) Bowers of Columbus Grove. She is also survived by brother Doyle (Donna) Myers of Attica and sister Ilo Hoskins of Vaughnsville; and special sister-in-law, Betty Schumacher. Ten grand-children; Chris (Greg) Schroeder, Tom (Leslie) Schumacher, Jason (Alissia) Schumacher, Amy (Justin) Martin, Andy (Summer) Kruse, Abe (Robbin) Kruse, Catherine Stafford, James Stafford, Heidi Goon, Michael (Amanda) Bower and 23 great grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Linda Schumacher; three sisters, Eloise (Ted) Verhoff, Gladys (Joe) Verhoff, and Sharon (Butch) Moore; one brother-in-law, George Hoskins; and many Schumacher brothers- and sisters- in-law.
Bonnie was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. Bonnie was a member of Vaughnsville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was the church treasurer, was involved with the church vacation bible school, and the Vaughnsville Kids Club. She enjoyed many family vacations at Crooked Lake and spending winters in Florida. She loved cheering on her grandchildren, the Columbus Grove Bulldogs, and Ohio State football. Bonnie’s greatest success in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Vaughnsville Cemetery.
