Alice L. Slusser, 93, died Monday, August 11, 2020, at Meadows of Kalida. She was born June 11, 1927, near Kalida to Walter and Wilma (Miller) Burman.
On September 26, 1948, she married Oran Slusser, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Alice is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sherry) Slusser of Carlton, KS and Ted (Deborah) Slusser of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Rebecca (Greg) Fuerst of Columbus Grove and Melinda Slusser of Maumee; eleven grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Ann Burman of Pandora.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Slusser; a brother, James Burman and two sisters, Lila and Barbara Burman.
Alice was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School. She had worked at both Vaughnsville and Columbus Grove School cafeterias. Alice was a homemaker, always helping family and friends in their times of need. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, the Red Hat Society and the Columbus Grove Garden Club. Alice sang in and was the director of the children's choir of the former EUB Church, now the Vaughnsville United Methodist Church, of which she was a member.
Family and friends may call from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at which time the services will begin at 10:00 a.m., at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Tom Brown will officiate with burial to follow in Vaughnsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vaughnsville United Methodist Church or Putnam County Hospice.
