Russell L Weaver

Russell L. Weaver, age 79, peacefully passed away in his home on Friday March 1, 2024. Russell was born in Loraine, Ohio on May 22, 1944 to Kenneth and Florence (Jamison) Weaver who precede him in death. Russell was blessed with his first marriage to Betty Rachlin, and the two had Little Rusty. He later married the love of his life for 52 years, Sharon (Sherer) Weaver who survives him.

Russell is survived by his sons Rusty (Mandi) Weaver, Donny Miner, and Todd Miner, his daughter Dustan (Jeff) Briley, and his sister-in-law Jan (Wagner) Weaver. Russell is also survived by his grandchildren Dominique Crowder, Jordan Weaver, Justan Weaver, Sinuwa Weaver, Braeden Weaver, Ricky Miner, Carrie Miner, Megan Miner, Rileigh Miner, Ryan Briley, Emily Briley, and Morgan Briley, as well as eight (8) great-grandchildren, and two (2) great-great-grandchildren. Russell is preceded in death by his brother Ron Weaver, his sister Brenda Long, and his nephews Greg Weaver, and Gary Weaver.

Russell was known as a man of his word who would happily give anyone the shirt off his back, and was even known to do so. Everyone who knew him called him a friend, and they all have amazing stories to share about the time they spent with him. Russell was a disabled Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Army for two years. Rusty also had a love for animals, and was a man who lived and died the way he wanted. His words to all of you would be “Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.”

Visitation will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove on Wednesday March 6, 2024, from 2pm until 4pm and from 6pm until 8pm. Additional visitation will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home from 10am until 11am on Thursday March 7, 2024. Funeral services will at 11am with Pastor Mark Miles presiding. Burial following immediately after at Cairo Eastside Cemetery in Cairo, Oh. Memorial contribution may be made to the family.
